The Crow Wing Chain is nationally recognized for its walleye fishery. 8th Crow Wing Lake sits in the middle of the chain — peak season is May–June and September–October. Trolling with crawlers along the 15–25ft breaks is consistently productive.
Excellent year-round. Shallow weedy bays on the north end hold big pike through summer. Early morning top-water action in June and July can be spectacular. 30”+ fish are common.
Rocky points and fallen timber along our shoreline hold quality smallmouth. Largemouth concentrate in the lily pads and shallow bays — great action all summer on soft plastics.
10th Crow Wing Lake sits adjacent and runs primarily 10–15ft flat — ideal crappie habitat. Early mornings and evenings in spring and fall produce consistently on small jigs.
Northern Minnesota has something for everyone — from state parks and bike trails to quirky small towns and live theatre. Everything listed is within an easy drive of the resort.

Camp Liberty Resort was established in 1938 — one of the original fishing resorts on 8th Crow Wing Lake. Our family has called it home for 42 years, and we're deeply proud of what it's become: a place where guests return summer after summer, now bringing their own children and grandchildren.
We live on the property and take care of every detail personally. You won't find an impersonal check-in desk or a corporate front office here — just us, genuinely happy to help you have the best possible vacation.
We take pride in maintaining our cabins to the highest standard. If something isn't right, we want to know immediately — and we'll fix it.
Real reviews from real families — Google, TripAdvisor, and beyond.
